What a fun place. We took our moms and they loved it. The Good Ol Days house is cute and fun with all the touches of the good ol days. We loved the pinball machine and Ms Pac-Man. We played games and watched some old TV shows. We worked on a puzzle and just took it easy. It's a great house with tons to see and a way to ignite some memories.
We went to Falling Water and did the horseshoe curve train ride....a lil drive to both but a nice place in the middle.
Belle Vernon is a cute little town with all that you need. Nice to have a local grocery and an Aldi nearby. There isn't a ton to do in town but there are some local restaurants and shops in town. We also ventured to the local winery which was a lot of fun.
Melanie's unique home is a wonderful way to step back in time and feel like a kid again. It was so fun looking through everything in the house. It brought about a lot of memory sharing for our family. Melanie was a great host and stopped by to tell us some history on the home and her family which was very interesting. She also left sweet treats throughout the home which our family enjoyed very much. We hope to come back and visit again sometime!!
The photos don't do this house justice – it's even more of a retro wonderland than it looks. Jam packed with everything from vintage packages in the medicine cabinets to a working free-play pinball machine in the game room. One of a kind.
On the practical side of things, it's a very comfy house with plenty of space, good parking, and a great location just down the road from grocery stores, restaurants, and the highway. Also right across the street from an amazing pair of antique/vintage shops.
